Senior Counselor:
If you're great with kids, have a lot of energy, a love for the outdoors, and love learning new things, you may have a future as a counselor at Camp Berger.
As a counselor, you will live in a cabin and care for up to 10 campers. You will be with your kids in the evening and through the night, you will share meals with them, you will share rest hour with them and special activities with them. During the daytime hours your campers will go to their selected activities while you teach in your activity area. You'll have a great opportunity to get to know each of your campers and serve as a mentor, coach and role model during their time at camp.
Being a camp counselor is an incredible way to spend the summer. As a counselor you'll make friends you'll remember for a lifetime, learn new songs that you'll sing year round, and have an experience you'll never forget.
Along with being a live--in counselor, you'll also teach in an activity area at camp, see the Programs & Activities section for a complete list. You'll be responsible for lesson planning, attending scheduled meetings, delivering a creative and purposeful curriculum, and the safety of your campers.

Assistant Counselor:
As an assistant counselor you will be assigned to live in a cabin with a senior counselor. As assistant counselor you will aid the senior counselor in the day to day activites as well substitute for neighboring counselors on their days off. You'll become familiar with your assigned age group, and will have many opportunities to learn from and teach along side senior counselors. You will receive the same training that a senior counselor receives.
You must be 18 years old, and be graduating from High School this year to apply for the position of assistant counselor.
Support Staff
Head Cook:
As Head Cook, you're responsible for all aspects of ensuring the preparation and serving of 3 meals a day for up to 150 people. You must teach and direct other kitchen staff, and help with some kitchen maintenance and clean-up. Additionally, you are responsible for the set-up and break-down of the camp kitchen, enjoy working in a busy kitchen and working with other staff and kids.
You must be at least 21 years of age to apply for this position, have prior experience and be first-aid and CPR certified.
Cook Assistant:
As Cook Assistant, you will work with the Camp Cook to ensure the preparation and serving of 3 meals a day, assist with kitchen clean-up and maintenance as well as the set-up and break-down of the camp kitchen. You must be at least 19 years of age to apply for this position and have prior experience and be first-aid and CPR certified.
Kitchen Assistant:
As Kitchen Assistant, you are responsible for setting up and operating the dishwasher, set up silverware container, put out tablewaiter water before meals and empty after meals, assist with filing water and juice pitchers, clean counters after each meal, assist in food serving, put away dishes after cleaned, assist with keeping the kitchen neat and clean (mop and sweep floor), and take out trash after every meal.
